Thanks!The ink got sticky on this one- I ended up spending most of my time rubbing out the ink transfer!It made my hand go black down one side too.

I never use pen, I make to manny mistakes, unless its erasable, I don't like it. not number 1 art tool for me.

I use it because my art teacher scolded me for using one in class.So, I kept using it!*grin*

Pencils are better than pens for adding shading and detail, but pens are better for this kinda art work. I figure the best art would use a combination of pens, pencils, and collor pencils.

Pens / Markers always give that kick ass kinda shine / Glow but damn if you don’t make one wrong mark it jacks it all up. Its very time consuming but generally I do a quick sketch of my idea in pencil lightly and then go over it with what ever else I'm using.

Pencils have use in light rough scetches and shading, Pens can be good for darker detail, and colored pencils work best for color detail, including shine, shade, change in tone, etc.

Pens are quite difficult to work with;you need to keep blowing on the pic and make sure it's dry enought so you don't smudge it.you know on my "Nyliir" picture?look at the tail and you'll se what happens when it's smudges >.<

I first sketch out my design with pencil and go over it in pen, that way I don't lose my lines to the color pencils.

I'm gonna start usin' pen more offen, course my pens suck, they're the cheap ones that shine this bronzy color, I need a no shine pure black, I think felt tips are the ones that do that, not positive on it. I've always used pencils so I'm tryin' sometin' new. Unfortunanty I'm leavin' this site for a while, well, not leavin', but i won't be on very often anymore, nor will I be sending any new ones unless they were completed before I decided to do this. I won't be drawing at al after today.

never mind, I'm not redusing time that much, nor will I quit drawing, I tried it for just one day and I felt depressed and angry because of it. Didn't draw all day, didn't visit this site while I was home, and I didn't even spend time wth my lizard, I stole a pencil today and began to draw. I was gonna stop and give myself some ime to improve my grades, but I'm jst goin' to pay more attention rather than give up drawing

I've actually already started, ya know my old picture of Darventar, The Grand Black Goilden Dragn that was faded and stuf? Well, I colored over it in pen and restored all colors, I even earesed smudges and some pencil over the eye. I almost went through the paper though

I often return to old lineworks, and rework old pictures to update them.It's worthwhile having a couple of 'developing' pictures-a lot can be learned from examining older work more closely.It tells you where you're going wrong, and also what is right about them.I appreciate your passion for art, Kelsey.It heartens me to hear your comments!

Yes, I have. You commented on one, the Gleizere dragon I drew. It wasn't titled, but it was the one with two sets of wings and a bunch of fish-like charactoristics. I have many of them acctually, use the search icon at the top of the website page to see them. I'll be sendin' in alot this week, and just so you know, I'm working on my own version of you and many other site users I'm used to, like Colton, Toan, Shy-girl, and I'm even workin' on Mars right now, I'll draw those who already have self-portraits to. i'm havin' a blast with it!

hey, i don't have a scanner either ^^ try taking pictures in a sunny room with the flash turned off, or try messing around with the brightness and contrast in a picture enhance program (ex. Microsoft Picture Manager or Picasa) to try and reduce flash or restore original color. I hope you visit soon! *teary eyed*
