Ooh, pretty ^^

Wow! This is really cool and pretty, and I especially like the wing design and the water color background. THe only issue I have with the enitre thing is that the back feet kinda disappear, but other than that, this is way cool!

I 'specially love the little star thing in the middle. I didn't notice it at first, but that is really pretty!!!

Wow! I love it! the colors are amazing, kelsey. The background reminds me of an underwater cave. Super cool

thx, I don't know what the background is...I guess underwater cave works ^^. and yeah, I know, the legs vanish. I personally liked it better that way....plus I was kind of lazy....

Yeah, I guess having the back feet popping out like that would look weird...

*kelseyglompattack!!!!* ^-^ I've never actually drawn with watercolor pencils, what are they like?
they're alot of fun once you figure out the different ways to use them. As with any medium, watercolor pencils take a little bonding to understand just how much pressure and water get what effect. I love the effects of watercolor pencils. The hard lins often leave residue stuck in the tooth of the paper when you wash it, so you'll tend to get fairly hard lines but watery color textures. its difficult to describe. It also an easy way to color since you need very little medium to get a dark value with the water, but you need to layer it sometimes. As with all watercolor, you've gotta start light first, so it requires patience. Its good in impressionistic pieces, anything emotional, or just for using water color in a controlled environment. and there's a decent number of ways to use them to

wouldn't the water ruin the paper though?
that depends on the paper and luck. This piece I'm pretty sure was done on very thin paper...I'm not sure why it didn't buckle. Alot of my pieces do buckle if I'm not careful. There's methods to prevent buckling but I'm not an expert on the matter. The method is called "stretching" if you look it up. I think it just involves taping the paper down, wtting it, drying it, and removing the tape. I've never tried this method. The easiest way is to use thicker paper. There is paper specially for watercolors and watercolor paper. Its usually textured though so I don't really bother

Hmm, cool! I might try that sometime but I really just favor paper and pencil right now.
