This is Nova the half-dragon; it's a drawing for Jewel's contest.
The requirements: must have black around the eyes, must have a cool name and that's all. The name didn't pose any problem as I was drawing one of my likable NPC I used in an old AD&D game of the Council of Wyrms: Nova (a young, cute, humble half-silver dragon who tends to go along well with other underdogs like himself). The black around the eyes did pose a problem (added with Photoshop) and I hope this will do. Also consider this as a rub-on tattoo (or charcoal marks) as he is more a "semi-wild" half-dragon and makeup and painting oneself is not a concept he is naturally prone to do (not by himself anyway). The drawing also displays him with fancy clothes but usually he wears such things only when he had to meet important people or when he manages to put his hands on such thing. Normally, he wears clothes that are much more simple (and this is a polite understatement).
A summary of his story:
Nova looks like a miniature human-shaped dragon but he is not a true dragon; his father was a full fledged-dragon and his mother was an elf messenger. Dragons usually don't dalliance with humanoids as the product of such unions is generally frowned upon. But his father didn't mind too much about these rules and he was even a bit proud of him... Until his mother got another kid; a half-blue dragon she named Lina. You should note that in that setting messengers travel vast distances over long period of time, and the silver dragon wasn't exactly the good and ever present supporting husband (dragons are quite independent during their childhood years while humanoids usually need a lot more care). So it kinda terminated the relationship between the two but the dragon was worried about his genetic lineage so he took both children (who were teenagers at that time) to the Northern wasteland and left them there on their own demise. Lina didn't had the same resistance to cold as Nova and died there while Nova was capture by frost giants. He would have been killed but he got "rescued" by a group of dragons who had a score to settle with the giants (any kind of help was more than welcome). So to make a long story short, after the battle the dragons took the slaves wherever they wanted but Nova decided to stick around for some times. This is the quick summary, about 20-30 pages would be needed to describe the exact chronology of the events (not to mention background of his parents, the dragons who rescued him and the background of the world itself).

@ Tempest Okay so after several weeks of tripping over little ideas of the stupidest things I've finally made my desition (I don't think I even spelled that right) I'm holding another contest (I'm so pathetic -.-') The objectives are really loose since my mind is twitterpatted so to speak. Anyways if you want go ahead and take a look at it. http://midnight-dire-wolf.deviantart.com/ (It's after Contest #1)
So the requirements are: must be an anthropomorphic female, must have a name and a background story.
I will see if the muses deem me worthy of an idea...
It means that the character has both human and animal characteristics such as (pretty much) everything on VCL, furries, the picture above... It also includes things like Scrooge McDuck and Bugs Bunny.
*is eating carrots dipped in ranch dressing for breakfast* @ Tempest: Yes. That's practically all th requirements. @ Jewel I see that you were up late a couple days ago. -.-'

god i hated english -_- we had to write a frickin historical fiction...i suck at writing anything that has to do with the world's history...and the teacher also put a twelve paragraph limit on it! a story in only twelve paragrphs? what about dialog! *pants and starts to pound table* ...okay...im better now 8D
well my englich techer had us write about WWII which wasn't that bad of a topic and it had to be a bunch of pages long.... last year thought i got lucky cuz my english teacher was new and he let us do what ever topic we wanted it was awesome
@Midnight Dire Wolf: you know, you can always come here if you want to talk about something...please don't get depressed! As for your Contest 2: My character might work...Rana is a human/elf who transforms into a mermaid whenever she is fully immersed in water. If that works for you, then I'll give you a full description later on.
I will see if the muses deem me worthy of an idea...
