Dragon's Tooth

      I felt a hot breath
On the back of my neck.
When I turned around there was nobody there.
The only thing there was a tooth.
      A dragon's tooth.

I polished it so much that it shined like the sun.
It was put on a chain.
Now it swings freely on my neck.
Brings me good luck wherever I turn.

I noticed this shadow following me.
      A huge dark shadow.
      A beautiful creature he was.
But I always saw him in the corner of my eye.

      Without turning around one day
      I asked
Do you want your tooth back?
      I was trembling all over.

      He replied so calmly
      Please stop trembling
I am not going to hurt you.
Yes, I do want my tooth back.

I took his tooth off my neck slowly.
      And handed it to him
      With my back facing him.

      Turn around
      Look at me!

      When I did
I saw in his claw was a dragon tooth.
      A highly jeweled dragon tooth.

      For you
      So you can remember me.

      I wear his tooth everyday.
Now and again I see his shadow.
