Half-Dragon's Handbook v1.6.0 released - 11:52 PM - Tempest

It's a little something I worked on over a long time and I'm starting to be rather proud of the result. It's ad&d second edition but it doesn't matter, it's something I wanted to do. Feel free to take a look at it: The Complete Half-Dragon's Handbook v1.6.0.

Fixes some minor issue on the Message Board - 10:09 AM - Tempest

Updated the main theme on the Message board that suffered some incompatibilities problems since the board was updated to v3.0.6. To sum up, I fixed Q&A captcha and the inability to vote in poll. The message board now use riddles to register and post anonymously (a better way to keep spambot off the board). The answers are provided in a thread at the top of the general forum.

New Review - 9:05 PM - Tempest

I have added another review to the list: DragonLance - Dragons of Autumn Twilight. Not a particularly good or particularly bad movie, it has some interesting parts but flaws as well. It's worth watching if like fantasyand don't mind that the image/CGI quality isn't really good by today's standards.

Re: Forum conversion to phpBB v3 - 10:12 AM - Tempest

A few things still need to be fixed and set up properly but the new board is now functional.

On the unexpected side, the conversion took longer than I thought; an hours offline data crunching and several hours to recreate the database on the server (I was allowed 75,000 queries per hours and I had to jam 650,000 of them, the whole thing was painfully slow (was done overnight)).

Also, I think 4-5 posts got trapped on the old board so I have manually reposted them. So in the end, everything seems to work quite well so everyone is encouraged to take a look at the new control panel and at the other themes available.

Forum conversion to phpBB v3 - 1:09 PM - Tempest

Please note that I will probably move this board to phpBB v3 in the next few days.

I will have to make an offline conversion of the current database, fix the inadequate captcha (there is no point to upgrade if it's just to be flooded by spammers) and modify a few other things as well.

What to expect:
- Usernames and passwords will remain the same - No post will be deleted - The board design will (probably) be (a lot) different - The board may or may not go offline for several hours, maybe up to a day if I screw things up badly.

New Review - 11:56 PM - Tempest

What would happen if you asked elementary school children to make a movie script? Well, 75 million dollars later, you may end up with something resembling to Dragon War: D-War. This movie is quite entertaining, especially the battle scenes (which would have explain rather well the beginning of another movie: Reign of Fire). Worth watching despite of the presence of some plot issues.

Enjoy.

New Reviews - 11:05 PM - Tempest

I have added two new review to the Digital and Analog Dragons Section: The Pagemaster (1994) and Dragon Fighter (2003). The Pagemaster is an old movie I saw many years ago. It's not bad; the dragon in it is well done and looks credible. As for Dragon Fighter, it's a B movie inspired from Jurassic Park but with a dragon instead of killer raptors. The movie is low budget so it's only worth watching if you have an hour and half to kill.

Enjoy.
