I have coded a new php script that generates unique serie of links (on the left box). It's not something huge but it was something that bothered me from some times.

New Review: Nezha Conquers the Dragon King - 6:36 PM - Tempest

I have managed to get a rare Chinese animation from a shady dealer: Nezha Conquers the Dragon king. I remember seeing it on TV when I was a kid. I would have to dig a bit more about the story because as I understand it, there are more than just one myth about this boy and his birth alone raise a lot question about the background of this character; someone who is born from an lotus flower looking like an egg, after a three and an half years gestation... does the father is part dragon (not something unheard of in Eastern mythology) or was his wife unfaithful, or is it just the Chinese equivalent of the storks stories? At any rate, it truly brought back some old memories... an animation worth seeing.

Also, I really like truly transparent png better than gif with transparent and non-transparent pixels so I have changed the background here to png. Those using IE v6.0 and those who use an old browser may see an opaque background but I want to reiterate that it is only because IE 6 (as well as other old browser) do not support transparent png and not because I want to force anyone here toward one browser or another. It is more convenient for me to change the background now than having to manually change every past and future lines of code that call the old background. Moreover this is not exactly the most interesting section of the website so I don't think people with old browsers will truly be bothered to not be able to see all the eye candy here.

I have noticed that the captcha in the artistic section wasn't displaying properly. This has been fixed and everything should works fine now.

New Review: Mulan - 8:33 PM - Tempest

Along with the newest addition to this section, the Mulan review, I have added the trailer of Reign of Fire and did some minor code fix. Also, I have changed the trasparency of the movie/show tag by using a semi transparent png instead of a grid with transparent and non transparent pixels. The new background is definitively better and the text is easier to read (see the Before / After picture). However, old browsers like IE 6 do not support tranparent png but you don't have to worry, the background will be completely opaque for you which won't prevent you from reading the page, or anything but you wont have the transparent eye candy.

Lastly, the featured review list is now entirely random. The script used isn't perfect yet (sometime displaying the same review more than once (it will eventually be fixed)), but I no longer to hard code the links every single page anymore. It worked well when there was few reviews but as the list grew larger, this change was necessary. Extension of pages are now php instead of html so old link may need to be updated.

Fixed database corruption - 10:41 PM - Tempest

I have been encountering some abnormalities over the board database size when doing my regular backup. I have repaired the corrupted tables, the tables affected were not terribly important so no real harm done.

I have done many minor code fix across the entire section along with removing uneccessary code that could potentially create display issues. Also, the text is now justified (however, old browsers may not display the text as such).
