not me, this is Scotty talking. lol
and this is in it's not really meant as a rant, it's just an amusing little thing meant to poke fun at a manically implausiable plan.
Okay, okay, okay. I'm not sure what EXX is doing, but Serenity has magical powers too and worst comes to the worst someone can just post for EXX, so let's not all freak out and try to go on with a plan which makes absolutely no sense whatsoever...
For starters, how is smashing through an already unstable rock face into a well full of gushing water, loose rocks and strong currents at all safer than tunnelling into another stable chamber? Not only is there a higher chance that the whole wall will cave in and (from water pressure as well, don't forget) cause the entire chamber to collapse, but there will probably already be loose rocks flying around at break neck speeds and swimming against a strong current isn't hard... IT'S IMPOSSIBLE!!! I took a swimming and diving course for the better part of seven years, take my word for it, oxygen would be the least of our worries. Constantly shifting water pressure and currents tossing you around like a rag doll would cause permanent lung damage of the kind where you would have to go to hospital for sneezing a few times, not to mention force out that precious oxygen and smash you into rocks and walls, breaking bones and causing sever lacerations.
It would be a lot safer to allow the water to come through in its own time and then swim out once it had settled. However, it appears that in all the rigorous safety checks, one fundamental aspect of this whole plan was overlooked...
Once the water has flowed into another chamber, the well itself would be practically empty; meaning that we'd all just have to sit around floating in water until our muscles caved in and we all drowned. Oops.
My idea of getting into the archives wasn't just some random plan to get us out from underground; it was a deliberate step along a supposedly unplanned and spontaneous plot line. Let's think about this for a moment. Medea is in the archives and has been screaming telepathic messages at Serenity to help her... Serenity doesn't tell anyone that Medea is well on her way to becoming pet food, but all the same, when Christian suggests a plan that leads them into the archives, rather than pouncing on the idea, Serenity proposes a plan leading in a completely different direction. I sense a shift in Serenity's alignment coming up... has Serenity gone evil? Has Medea finally ground Serenity's last nerve? Does Serenity just want Medea to die through some sort of repressed psychopathic tendency resulting from unresolved and traumatising childhood conflicts, which would also explain why she wants us to bore into an underground well with a plan about as safe and logical as running head first into a brick wall? Is Serenity even an elf anymore? IS SERENITY EVEN A GIRL ANYMORE?? Guess we'll just have to wait and see...
In the mean time, Medea is probably getting bored of role-playing on her own and probably wouldn't mind if we all came bursting into the archives, hence reuniting the entire group, allowing us a quick action scene where we battle demons and then we can all cool off by going through the archives and finding out some vital information about the breaker that leads us onto the next part of the story.
Whereas even if we did, somehow, survive going head-to-head with the full fury of nature deep in an enclosed underground cavern, best case scenario being that we all get out alive, go home, get changed and have a nice warm bath... then what do we do? Sit around waiting for Medea to burst out of the ground, exhausted, gasping for breath, drenched in sweat, covered in demon-inflicted injuries and wondering why Serenity ignored her pleas and left her for dead, (or just assumed that she was screaming her head off about being attacked by demons because she was lonely and wanted some attention… I don't know, you'll have to ask Serenity why she places such small value on Medea's life... maybe she wants to eat her?) rather than tunnelling into the archives and saving her when the opportunity arose?
Anyway... I'm done... can get on with whatever plan you want now. I'm mainly doing this in the hopes that, in Sarina's absence, my brother will stop punching me and freaking out because of the sheer lunacy of what's been proposed as a way to escape from death and how my idea was shrugged off as if it were the ravings of a suicidal lunatic with dynamite strapped to his head juggling with napalm, knives and a ball of flaming barbed wire while doing an Indian rain dance on hot coals and loudly shrieking something about ‘they’ after every sentence.
If, however, this new plan is part of some bigger picture, then just tell me not to worry and it'll all make sense eventually and I'll go along with it without kicking up a massive fuss.
On the other hand, if everyone is now of the opinion that, just for a break from the usual, Serenity is out to horribly murder us all and would rather go along with a plan that vaguely sounds like a reasonably sane person might at least have checked the spelling, then perhaps we could try my idea… but hey, not my thread, so I’ll do whatever everyone decides. I just think it’s important if everyone shares their thoughts or confusions in order to ensure the smooth running of a thread.
And as for the oxygen thing, Christian has already stated, several times, that oxygen is low and that if we don’t hurry up and do something we’re all going to die. Gee, and people wonder why I get so wound up… ‘We’re low on oxygen and going to die!’ ‘Hey, here’s an idea, why doesn’t someone say we’re low on oxygen and we’re going to die?’
<-- and that last part was void.
