Rovendor….A world of two races, Elves and Humans. The two races are separated by The Great Ocean, but each have had contact with each other, and both continents have many monsters, and other humanoid races to contend with, like Orcs, Giants, Cyclops’s, etc. The two have been at peace for centuries, and each have wars among their own kind, for sure. The orcs, giants and goblins, and other things of that nature are hard to eradicate. And some of these barbaric races are civilized. And then there are the lesser races, Gnomes, and Halflings, they are short, but lanky, except for halflings which like to eat quite a lot.

Avar
Avar is a continent, of elves of many subraces, which I will now go into detail on the races of Elves, Gnomes, and Halflings.

Avariel Elves: These elves are the tallest of all elves, standing around 5’5’’ to 6’0’’ tall, they live in flying cities, that seem to have been pieces of ground torn out of the earth, and lifted into the air, these cities are built by using Terraces. The elves themselves are fair skinned, and have no body air, their hair is usually black, or Blonde, but brown is not unheard of. Avariels are commonly called winged elves, for having angelic wings, making them able to fly. Avariels are the second most agile of elves, and third strongest, but like all elves they seem thin, and graceful. They’ve hollow bones to fly, and every one of them has some sort of power over Wind and Ice magic. They only use shortswords, longswords, Longbows, and small crossbows. Avariels are renowned for their tamed Giant Eagle mounts, which are rarely sold to other elven races. Their Infravison is quite keen, second only to Dark Elves. Also have the ability to speak with any aerial animal.
Dark Elves: The Most Agile of elves, but the fifth in strength, they live in Darkwood forest, they are very warlike, and prefer to use dual weapons, two longswords, a dagger and a longsword, shortsword and a dagger, etc. They have Ebony black skin, that can hardly be seen in the dark. They’re stealthy, and acrobatic, they can probably beat any other elf on a one on one, for they prefer single combat, that two vs. three combat and other higher odds. They lack teamwork skills, and they have the lowest population. They are renowned for the taming of their Huge Lizard mounts, that are able to climb steep walls, with the sticky feet they have, and are much faster than horses. They have the ability to levitate, create a ball of pitch blackness, and the ability to create Faerie Fire which are flames that can outline an enemy, but not burn their skin. They hardly have any mages, and those that are mages, are weak. They stand at 4’5’’ to 5’5’’ tall. They have no body hair, and commonly have stark white, or pitch black hair. And black eyes are common, but some have Purple eyes.
Aquatic Elves: These elves have blue, scaly, slimy skin, with gills at either sides of their necks. They have huge eyes, and very small noses, the eyes are so they can see in the dark depths of the ocean, they have no infravision, but they do have sonar, that they can use only under water. Their hands, and toes are webbed, for easier swimming. Though they can walk on land, they get dehydrated very fast after just a few hours on the surface, making them have to drink more water than others. Their main weapon is the trident, and their mounts are Hippocampus’s. They all have some sort of minor ability to control the ocean. They are not very agile on land, nor are they especially strong, but they have huge numbers. Usually around 3’4’’ to 4’0’’ tall. They have no hair, and their eyes are black, for they have huge pupils.
Grey Elves: These elves, are a little more barbaric than the rest, living in tent, and moving with herds on the plains, they have a large population, they are the strongest of all the elves, and also the lest agile. They commonly stand at about 7 feet tall, with muscle bound bodies. Their favored weapons are the Greatsword, and Warhammer. They are fair skinned, with no body hair, they all only have a grayish white hair, nothing else, and usually gray eyes. They have the ability to speak with herd animals, they have no mages whatsoever.
High Elves: This is the primary race of elves on Avar, having golden blonde hair, and gold hue skin, they are graceful, they are slightly agile, and slightly strong, They have no body hair, and stand at 4’5’’ to 5’0’’ tall. They are the best horsemen in the world, and have no ‘preferred’ weapon. They are strong mages though.
Shadow Elves: These elves are commonly mistaken for Dark Elves, and that’s for good reason since they have ebony black skin, but with a grayish color. They are fairly agile, but not all that strong, they are shorter than most elves, standing at 4’0’’ to 4’5’’ tall. They have no body hair, or hair for that matter, their eyes are just gray in color, they prefer the dagger, or small hand crossbows as weapons. They are strong with shadow magic, and therefore can teleport themselves from shadow to shadow, and can walk through walls, stone, word, anything, except something living. They live in the Darkwood forest among the Dark Elves. Making them excellent thieves.
Sylvan Elves: Are very secretive, and are mainly archer, with longbows. They live in the high forest, away from all the other races. They look like High elves, and have the same builds, and strength as high elves, but they are commonly druidic, and peaceful. But when stirred they can be a deadly foe. They all have the power to talk to animals.
Valley Elves: Are elves who live in valleys, and the side of mountains. They live in small villages, and are peaceful. They are indifferent to what weapons they use, usually the weapon the region they live in has mainly. They pay close attention to their surroundings, and may look paranoid at times. They stand at only about 4’0’’ to 4’3’’ tall.
Wood Elves: More secretive than sylvan elves, and much shorter than Aquatic elves, standing at 2’5’’ to 3’5’’ tall. They are attuned with the wild, and all of them druids. They are skilled with slings, and small daggers, but their not really a force to fear, one of the larger elves could probably slaughter ten in a few minutes, though they’re the most peaceful, and the most powerful of druids. They’re the smallest and weakest of all physically.
Moon Elves: These elves all have black hair, with a blue hue, they are graceful and elegant, using finely crafted swords, and bows to protect the Myr Forest. At night their skin takes on a blue hue, and they stand at 4’5’’ to 5’5’’ tall. They are the fewest in population, but never underestimate them, they’re the finest archers in the world.
Gnomes: Standing at 2’5’’ to 3’0’’ tall, they are thin and lanky, but excellent trap makers.
They spend their time making simple machines, or planning designs for new boats, they’re the best architects in the world.
Halfling: Gluttonous, and joyful, they prefer to relax, than adventure, play, than compete, eat, than run. It is very common for them to be bloated with fat, they stand always at 3’ to 3’5’’ tall. Some make great adventurers, but some are thieves, they are sure footed, and have some advantage of being short when fighting an orc.
All elves are immune to sleep, and therefore they go into a state of meditation ,for about four hours a night, and then after they have gone through this meditation like sleep they feel rested.
They’re all resistant to cold.
10.000 years ago on the (back then) elves dominated the human continent
Elves were arrogant and often selfish when it came to dealing with other races, whom they all considered to be lesser races, especially humans, because the elves had a strong ability to control emotions, that the humans lacked, and the elves loved to pick on them for that. Other races were like the humans in that aspect, but the humans were the most present, so they became the victims.
Elves controlled powerful magics, and as the only race with magics, except for the orcs who have strong shamanic powers and beliefs. This strong control over magic was also what kept them in control on the continent.
Humans eventually began to learn magic, both on their own and with help from some elves who thought it could benefit the elves if the humans were more resourceful, but not too resourceful. Unfortunely for the elves, humans are quick to learn and quickly mastered the magics tought to them, and devoloped many offensive magics. This split the continent in two major powers, the elves and the humans who quickly formed a coalition to stand up to the elves.
This marked the beginning of the Sillent Wars. There never were any open war, but many skirmishes occurred between the humans and elves. The humans, tired of having been oppressed by the elves for many centuries, were overwhelmed by their many victories over the elves and many losts themselves to the revenge.
Eventually the elves decided it was time to leave the humans and find a new home, as they claimed the continent was now ruined by humans and their warfare. Though unnoficially, the elven council and human coalition leader had secretly met several times to discuss the outcome of this conflict, and it was decided that it was best to part ways, though the elves would not admit this defeat publicly.
It took over 200 years for the elves to search for and find a new place to live, and transport everyone to the new place. The Sillent Wars officially ended when the last known elf had left the continent.
Some elves stayed behind however in secrecy, as they would not just abandon their home to the “lowly†humans because the council decided to. This led to some smaller skirmishes and on the continent, but eventually they stopped showing themselves. It is not known what happened to them exactly.

Race: Avariel Elf.
Appearance: He has pale, white skin, blue eyes, a athletic build, common among his people, and golden blonde hair. He stands at 6’0’’ tall, and he looks to be twenty five still, since his race lives over eight hundred years. He looks youthful, but his eyes show that he is wiser than he looks. His wings are a little bigger than some others of his race, but not that much bigger. His hair is long, going down to his shoulders, since his people believe the length of your hair, is a symbol of power.
Clothes: Wears a brown, linen tunic, with linen pants, in the back of his shirt are slits for his wings. He also wears a pair of brown leather laced boots.
Armor: His wears a fine mesh, mithril chain mail shirt, and chain mail pants, for he would want to fly, not be grounded. On his left hand is a ring, that produces a large round shield, of magical energies at his will.
Weapons: A Mithril longsword about 32 inches in length, the edge is very sharp, it has a cold enchantment, that causes frostbite to it's victims, earning it the nickname Frostbrand.

Other: He rides a giant eagle through the skies, and across the lands, to travel, and to go to war. When he whistles, the bird comes. On his back he always carries a pack full of supplies, and other needed things.
