ok so imagine this scene.
u r sitting in class when a guy sitting behind u sias ya know dragons aren't real you respond with "they are real in the same way dinosaurs are real" the guy obviously not understanding ur comparison he states "dinosaurs were real" u b-ing more intaligent respond with "exactly the stupid knights killed them all off"

Now here is a question how would you respond to to make him realize dragons are or were at one point real

any as for your question, you can't force people to believe what you do. instead just refer him to this site and leave it at that. :>

First there is a unwritten rule on no LEET speak. It makes things easier to read, and keeps people from posting things like telestriation above. And after a while your typing and writing will improve making things easier for reports and things like that. (trust me, message boards have helped me.)

On the line of "dragons real or not real", I am a tough choice for helping you. I love the idea of dragons and the stories I read. But I see them only in the area of myths or a mix of creatures and events people did not understand. Somewhat in the same area that UFOs are in now days.

I know that don't help, but as long as the person likes the idea of dragons. You have a foot in the door.

If I were you I would lean over to him and tell him the following,

"You will believe what you will believe, I will believe what I believe. That cannot be changed. A man and a woman believe what they need to believe to make it through life and take the course that fate has designed for them. If dragons are real then how does it affect you or I? What if they are not? In the end we will both die our human deaths and the dragons will not matter then. Thank you, have a good life."

Then, if he laughed at me or insulted me I would either fight him or ignore him. Though, school is important and you don't want to be kicked out. So I recommend you don't fight. Ignore him and get the best grades you can, because even though it may be easy or hard to you, and you may never need it in your chosen career, a high school diploma still looks good on a resume and that's what you need to get a good job, a good resume.

I would offer the same advice as everyone above to your problem with the non believer. Just ignore him, he doesnt understand and is just trying to annoy you, dragonmaster.
Oak, i like your idea, I think im going to memorise that response!

LEET is what you keep using. It is the shortening of words etc (u, sez, etc) and the use of numbers instead of words (4=for 2=to etc). It is what people (including myself) use in chatrooms but it gets very annoying having to dechipher each and every post when it is used in forums.

And telestriation was only trying to help you not get flamed on this or other boards.

This *is* the General forum, isn't it? Then there's only one person in charge of this part of the Forum (two actually, but one hasn't posted. Ever.) Tempest.

Also, Faerydae didn't call anyone slow. They were just pointing out that your typing improves as a result of going on forums. I've found mine has.
