Why not? The beard is pretty much directly beneath the end of the lower jaw, so the flame wouldn't hit it.

It's just a logo. Same thing as a signature, except it depicts something.

Well Makla is half dragon and phoenix so it has the bird and dragon in harmony

Yep. He's already explained it on his "Elegance" pic. He said someone was trying to pass his art off as their own, so he made this logo. Dragon, pheonix, and griffin - his three fav creatures.

hey Makla i have a question:how do you manage to do that much beautiful shading and not get smudges??! i can't shade any picture without getting damn smudges onnit and everytim i rub it out it comes back again,like a kind of stubborn fungae

yeah, i have the same problem. i was trying to shade one of my pictures the other day and all i managed to do was make it look really grimy.

Blackhawk: when i draw, the only part of my hand that touches the picture is my pinky. i use it as a level and it keeps me from smudging the pic too much

When I draw, I use a piece of tracking paper. That and I use a hard pencil. then I ink( sometimes) and finally I put in the shading

Makla, that's a sweet technique. i really should try that so i don't get smudged pictures that i sometime get

Here's another question for ya Makla: Do you start out with basic shapes (cone, sphere, etc...) or do you just draw? I can never figure out how starting with basic shapes helps with a drawing, it's only succeded in messing up my art, rather than making it better.

That technique is a really good idea makla i will probably use it in my next drawing.

let me answer that second part, Aiolos. It honestly depends on what you're drawing. if you're drawing your own character, draw freehand. However, if you're drawing anything else, use shapes. example, balls for joints, tube for legs, blocks for hooves, and barrels for thighs and um...barrels(if drawing a horse)

i usually don't use that technique cause i just can't work with it. the most i would do is get an idea of how big it is and in what position it will be in

ya. i have to draw everything freehand 2. i fill in some of the details as i go. if i dont, it dosnt werk.

I tried to draw a dragon starting with basic shapes onetime, ya..it, uh..it wasn't a pretty sight....

freehands the way to go... i know, the shapes and stuff just makes it look really bad
