they screw pics up! and they don't work right either. at least mine doesn't....

Mine isn't the best, either. That's why I color a lot of my scanned pictures.

I sort of like my scanner. It just screws with the colors, but it's better than useing a camera. Less work. And the quality is better.

^^ It only screws with the colors if they're colored (duh). B&W pencil or pens drawings are fine. And you can always enhance them....

actually, that is sort of like a paradox. it depends on the word; if you know it, then you'll know, but if the word is one that you don't have a clue about, then you won't know how about this one, a more common paradox: if a tree falls in a forest, but there's noone to hear it, does it make a sound?

of course it would! it's just that nothing would hear it

but how do we know if anything makes a sound when nonne hears it what if things only make a sound when someone hears we will never know and actually words have changed becuase they were misspelled in the dictionary.

Sounds are vibrations whether anything hears them or not and the spellings...we'll never know unless someone has a lot of time and money on their hands and wants to research the origins and spellings of words...

people create words! so, i could say that a word is spelt a certain way, even though it isn't. and i could make up my own word, and the spelling could be arguable; my spelling of that word could be completely wrong according to someone else.... you getting all of this?

Yes and it makes me want to make my own language! I've always wanted to have one where you spelled things how they sound...

Noname, I actually don't know the definition of a lot of words, and that's what a dictionary does. I'm also horrible at finding the...erm...noun/verb/adjective thing. I always fail those in school. But I can spell and I use punctuation. Perhaps that's what got you into thinking I was some sort of dictionary?
