OMG!!!! hurricane season officially starts in about 2 weeks! and it could start a bit earlier! AIOLOS, GET OUT OF THERE WHILE YOU CAN!!!!! they're predicting that this year will be as bad, or even worse than last year!!!!! they even RETIRED 4 names: Dennis, Katrina, Rita, and Wilma. and they are also predicting that the northeast will be hit by a major hurricane in the next....5....years.... hey, look to all of those people who suffered greatly in the south, especially new orleans. last season, there were FOUR hurricanes that broke old records! the names are above (retired). i know almost everything about hurricanes to satisfy my thoughts.

that isn't REALLY considered evacuating... and trust me, never try and stand up to mother nature. i don't try and manipulate her, do i? i can CREATE her elements, but i can't REALLY take control, and i would never do that! it's just wrong.

Hurricanes are better than tornados. You can at least get away from a hurricane long before it hits. Tornados just start, and if your in the way...sucks for you.

in that sense, maybe, but hurricanes turn out to be more deadly than tornadoes. not only do they carry strong winds, they are much bigger in size, create surges many feet high, create huge downpours, and, on occasion, create tornadoes. they flood many hectares of land, and even though they become weaker as they hit land, they can exist for DAYS, even WEEKS if they head out into the warm waters of the ocean again. that's what happened to hurricane ivan, if you may not recall! it hit florida, traveled up the eastern seaboard, then took a right turn into the atlantic, and after many days, it hit TEXAS before completely dissolving out in the southwest. and for tornadoes, yeah, they do come unexpectingly sometimes, but they do issue tornado warnings when one is spotted on the ground. for most of the time, they don't live very long, or hit in highly populated areas much. they don't create surges or heavy rainfall, or even the hail. the storm that produced the twister also produces all of those things, except for the storm surges, of course! twisters pack higher wind speeds than hurricanes, but they only affect a small area, compared to a hurricane. so, in essence, hurricanes are MORE destructive than tornadoes, even though you can get away from hurricanes faster. but then again, if everyone decides to evacuate at the same time................. how the heck is every person there going to get to a safe place if every method of tranportaion is nearly unusable. i mean, if the roads are jammed miles and miles, flights are booked, every possible train ticket is bought, boats and ships...... oh, you get the picture!

hurricanes don't hit France, let alone England. the waters up there are just to cold to house a hurricane! it was probably a REALLY bad storm; we sometimes get them here as well, especially in the summer.

France had the worst storm in it's history in 1999.Lots of people died and the experts say it was a hurricane.It does get extremely hot here in the summer.40°+ in Paris last year and people were dying from the heat.

My rock climbing instructor person in Virginia was struck by lightning. He was standing ontop of a rockwall (which is right next to the zip-line) with a light shower coming down. And out of no-where, a lightining bolt hit the zip-line, traveled down it and hit him on the rockwall. He said the first thing the doctor said to him in the E.R. was 'why aren't you dead?'. I'm glad he didn't die. That guy was so freakin' funny...

typhoons do come with water because they usually form over the ocean, pushing the moisture up with it.
the chances of getting hit by lightning is 1:1,000, increasing as you're around metal objects, power lines, or anything else that might attract lightning.

the US is practically the only country that uses farenheit, so yes, we're talking in celcius. 40 C is near around 110 or so F. (i don't really know how to convert between the two, but i know enough to estimate)
