For one, it's getting waywaywaaaay more publicity than it really deserves. The plot is just pieces taken from Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and Pern mashed into one, and...paolini's writing style isn't very good. He uses big words to make up for his boring style. I'm looking for this review I read that turned me away from eragon, and I'll give you the link once I find it.... **I do like Eldest though. (:

eragons ok, but its definently not my fav. dragon book. mine's dragon champion by e.e. knight, ever heard of it?

nope..don't know what my favorite book is though.

omg, dragon champion is the best ever. ts actually told from the dragons perspective, whereas most books r told through the eyes of a human.

I read part of dragon's milk back in fifth grade... i didn't really like it. \: My favorite book is and always will be The Sight. Flipping. amazing. book. If you havn't read it I HIGHLYHIGHLY suggest you check it out. <3 Fire Bringer comes in second (Rannoch, Fireheart. ;D ), and when I think of that book i get all tinglllly. X3 They're both by the same author, too. The god of all writers, David Clement-Davies. (: But my favorite dragon book(s) have always been the Harper Hall Trilogy by the vonderful Anne McCaffrey.

ya. its not very good in my opinion, just mine. it just doesnt perk up my interest. i like huge adventures with wars! and violence! and finding a purpose! thas y i love dragon champion. i just got the new one, dragon avenger, and it isnt NEARLY as good as the 1st. AND ICEFIRE LOST DRAGON CHAMPION!!!! im probably going on strike and refusing 2 tlk 2 her if she doesnt find it today. i HATE loaning my stuff 2 others, they always lose it. and then i hate them. ill KILL HER if she doesnt find my fav book that cost me 20$

Mhmm, Fire Bringer has a biiiig war at the end (and it's so awesome. I mean it's a war between deer, damnit. you can't get much better than that). The Sight doesn't have a big war, but there's a lot of fighting and the ending is just so YES. It's very different from the traditional happily-ever-after ending.
