We call all the fast food stores here "Celmanella centrals" ... and yah, I've tried supermarkets, but they won't hire me for the same reasons

well, you know how to fix that? Community service! Wins you a lot of nods, I'm not kidding!

Communtiy service is compulsery if you want to graduate from yr12 in australia.... I never got to year twelve though, cause my grades in year eleven weren't high enough both times.

that and if you can get references from any of your teachers, that too would be helpful.

@SIlveera: Well, first of all, there's usually always a humane society or something like that that regularly take in volunteer helpers to help with the animals. Also stores set up mainly for selling daily items cheaply to poor families usually look for volunteer helpers. ALso, I think some public daycares would look for volunteers. Besides that, you can work on cleaning up local parks and such, and even if there's no supervision, you could put it on your resume.

Oh i see it is hard to get a good job these days

you could volunteer at an animal shelter! thats what i did i enjoyed it esp the kitties n.n

the closest thing we have to a humane society is the pound (because our stupid cheap shire decided not to establish and RSPCA centre here), we don't have stores for selling food to the poor here and you can't work in a daycare in australia unless you have a TAFE qualification. The park cleaning might work... if I can find a park ^^' I've lived here for four years and I still don't know where anything is.

@firedrake: Yeah. Community service is where you volunteer your service to the community to better the community, with no money given to you, but it gets you a lot of experience and people look very highly on it.
@Silveera: Well, the next thing I would suggest is to look online for community service opportunities in your town/city. If it has an official website, odds are it will include a list of business/organizations that require volunteers

@firedrake: it is also called service learning hours.... perhaps thats what your school calls them thats what mine called them...

When I did biology in year 11, my Biolodgy teacher was so wacked xD He ussed to tell the worst jokes and would make fun of the popular, stuck up b**ches (our whole class was girls, cause all the guys changed out)

bet he felt out of place But the worst jokes are often the best to laugh about later on though xD we had this crazy kid in our class that we all pretty much hated.... even the teacher he would do the stupidest things and wouldn't even try in the class and it was an AP class too it was so annoying

It's true, it's very true. My chemistry teacher says that the mark of a good chemistry teacher is the ability to tell really bad jokes...which she does, but they're still funny XD

ON of his favourite jokes was "This is mushroom, he's a fun guy (fungi)" xD He was a really good teacher, cause when he was explaining things, he'd draw them as little cartoons on the white board

lol we did that too on my chem teacher's white board one time we doodle on an entire slideshow thing because we had a sub and it was epic it had ninjas killing this green blob thing and then a giant rabbit too and the we outlines some of the people from the class on it too xD it was cool

my history teacher always makes ridiculous jokes. every minute of every day. my friends are already sick of him, but i still think hes funny xD -ahem- For example, i think his favorite joke is: "Have you ever read the book Yellow River by I. P. Freely?" its more of a pun really...but most of his jokes are really dumb. Like, he'd make a joke like this: "So there was this girl i once knew named Amanda Wormvomit. Amanda hated her name, so one day, she changed her name. You know what she changed it to? Rachel Wormvomit." xD dumb stuff like that...which i still laugh at :3 but i swear he gets all these kinds of things from some cheesy joke site...

Wow...that's bad. I really like puns. I think they're awesome. ^^

I giggled at the first one...but the second one is kinda fail.... my math teacher is really funny though
