T’was the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;
The knives were all hung back with care,
Evidence hidden in case investigators came there;
The shotgun was hidden beneath the shed
And not even a blood stain was on the bed.
The thief with his bag and black cap,
Had just gotten away leaving a dead chap,
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
Neighbors sprung from their beds to see what was the matter.
Away sounded the alarms like a flash
Badges reflecting on the dark blue sash.
The moon on the breast of the newly fallen snow
Gave the luster to the gore not too far below,
When what to the curious eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh and eight fiery reindeer,
With a cloaked evil driver, so deathly and quick
They knew in a moment that they would soon be sick.
More rapid than lightning his sleuth came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called each blade by name.
“Now, Slasher, now! Flasher, now! Dicer, and Slicer!
On! Cursor, on! Cuber, on! Cleaver and Hacker!
To the top of porch to the top of the wall!
Now dice away, dice away dice away all!”
As dry leaves that before the wind hurricane fly
When all was finished, smoke curled to the sky,
So up to the house top the coursers, the wind blew
The reindeer blew fire and the people all slew.
And then, in a twinkling, the survivors heard a top the roof
The burning and scorching of each tiny hoof.
The deer slowly turned around
Down from the sky they jumped with a bound.
They scorched all the evidence, every last foot,
And all that was left of the house was black soot;
To the smoldering heap the figure turned his back,
And he looked like the reaper with evil he didn’t lack.
His eyes- how they glowed! His voice so scary!
His cloak was like black roses, his demon was merry!
His mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the ground was stained red in the snow;
The long sleuth he held tight in his grip,
And his face was masked, only seen in a small rip;
He had a ghoulish face and an evil grin
That sneered and showed the deepest of all sin.
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filed his scythe each movement ending with a jerk.
And laying his finger upon the blade tip
And giving a nod to his deer, away to him they zipped.
He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle
All heard him exclaim, ‘ere he drove out of sight
“Merry Christmas to all and to all an evil night!”
Merry Christmas everyone n.n and a Happy New Year
