Well it's somewhat like that only the princess asks to be captured,she keeps warding off knights ,and she becomes friends with the dragon she was captured 'or asked to capture 'her.

@Estuary: I've read the whole series of Dealing with Dragons, and I love it, and the author is Patricia C. Wrede, and anyone who hasn't raed it MUST, and anyone who has must read it a second time (or third or fourth or whatever) and place it lovingly on their home bookshelf. *nods decisively*

...i dunno what i think of that cycle (im pretty mad about that too) =/ i think a good bit of it is plagiarism, i think the characters r dumb, and i think that he spent too much time in brisingr talking about things i didnt care about (roran and nasuada and crap)

Plagiarism of what? Although granted, most of the characters are pretty stupid except for Saphira and Arya. However, I do think Roran and Nausada are important *but the whole arm-slitting scene was pretty weird...*

mainly star wars and lord of the rings. and i dont really like arya (she's too 'perfect') and i think romance is supid. and i dont reallly care that roran killed umpteen people cause he loves katrina THAT much...it kinda traces back to me not liking romance...

I generally don't like romance either, and Christopher Paolini is definitely NOT the best romance/action writer ever! Idk, the only person who can write a romance that I really root for is Bryan Davis, but that's mainly becuase he always makes his guy characters old-fashioned. Lol, I love old-fashioned guys in books.

Ah. See, I could never go for the antagonist. I like guys who are nice and gentlemanly, which obviously rules out every bad guy. The closest I've ever come to liking a bad guy was Soujiro from Rurouni Kenshin, but that's only because he wasn't really a bad guy. I guess if the author or manga-ka mentioned more about the bad guy's life and why they turned out like they did I might feel sorry for the antagonist, but I wouldn't obsess over him.

im guessing you would never read a book if basically everbody was a bad guy.

I have realized that I really really like black hair and nerdy-looking guys. But then again, looks aren't everything for me.

all of my male characters, my main ones anyway, have long or mid-length dark or black hair. I personally think guys with long-longish dark hair look sexy. Eye color has limited effect on me, but I like my boyfriend's light brown eyes alot, and I wanted to cry when he had to cut his long hair. *sniff* I still love him just the same of course...but still. I think muscles look kinda icky to...just a little...*don't like body-builders*

@Catc: That's exactly why I hate the vast majority of guys at school and why I'm generally sexist against boys. What I really like in a guy is compassion. Unfortunately, that word seems completely foreign to most guys.

totally... one can only hope that college will have the better acting guys.... hopefully.. or there is no hope and that aspect will be explored in a few months.... xD

I hate to break it to you, girlies, but you're going to run into inmaturity everywhere you go. You just have to learn to deal with it. I'm in college, and yes, there are still guys that act like the ones in high school. There are plenty that I wouldn't mind bashing their faces in. You just have to learn to deal (or ignore) them. There are plenty of guys that are still the gentlemanly type. But I do have one piece of advice for y'all, people change a lot when they get in college. It might take a while, but the new environment and new people help them find who they really are. So don't brush off every guy that seems annoying or arrogant or that rubs you the wrong way. Deep down, he might be the sweetest guy you'll ever know, and it might be that you're just the person to bring that quality out in him. I should know. I'm living that experience. I met my boyfriend my freshmen year of college (i'm a senior now). I thought he was just another arrogant, annoying, know-it-all jock. . .that is, until I took the time to get to know him. Now we're both better people for having met each other, and he's the best friend that I could have ever hoped for. I'm not saying cling to every jerk that comes along. I'm simply saying to give them a chance. Under all those masks, a real person exists. You WILL change in college. It's a place where you find yourself and figure out what you truly want to do with your life. So, doesn't it make sense to give other people the chance to change too?

And that's why I have missed this place. You can always find great advice from people who know what they're talking about.

crap...I'm gonna change in college to? I don't know how much more of myself I can really discover or mature....except maybe my irrational temper...aside, I'm not looking into going out with anyone who acts like a steriotypical highschooler. I know men can change, but, in highschool at least, I refuse to be associated with most of these guys. the first guy I started dating my freshman year was this jerk named Juan. He seemed really sweet at first but I found out he was a crack addict and a complete pervert. (instinctively I kinda knew it would never work out, but I guess I was a more stupid freshman than everone realized) When my current boyfriend, Aaron, found out we were dating, he was shocked. He didn't think I, the quiet innocent artist, would fall for Juan. He told his friend, Tony, and Tony asked every person in the class if they knew Juan and what they thought of him...and as it turns out, he had quite a widespread reputation. I broke up with him that day, only 4 days into dating him. A week later he dropped out, and, based on a rumor I heard from one of his friends, he, a junior who stayed back two grades, married some other freshmen or something like that and broke up with her a month after. Aaron still sees him around a few times, but like I said, Aaron cut his long gorgious hair and he wears glasses now so it doesn't seem like Juan recognizes him...and Aaron's sister has threatened him never to come near either of us....and she's a force to reckon with. Still, it creeps me out to think that I almost got into a mess I wouldn't have gotten out of easily. Another good lesson: always get a background check on any man you consider dating. If he has a bad reputation, its likely for a reason

I avoid boys not because of their background but that I realized a while back that although there are some good guys out there, all that is hidden by massive amounts of hormones that don't go away until they mature a little. That and the fact that dating in highschool only brings about drama, and it's a very rare case that actually brings about a lasting relationship. @Kelsey: I'm really sorry your first bf was such a jerk. O.O it tis all my fault..... i have let Omar down..... i have lost two of her kittens today.... one Little Omar and the other a female tabby... i promised her that i would care for them and get all of them homes, but i have now lost two of them

i knows.... Omar was our neighbor's barn kitty tht came to our house because I feed my outside kitties, while he just lets them catch the mice... mom really didn't like them in fact she hates cats... Paddie was my little prince and Omar was in her own way a companion... who was getting closer and closer to becoming sociable.... oh and don't worry i feel the same way about my mother... this is all why i am a daddy's girl.... dad cares and mom doesn't...
