itz a Dragonoff.....wich iz part horse, part dragon....az da uddaz said b4 da crash....
wouldn't that be a hippodrak?
i call 1/2 dragon 1/2 horse a dragonhorse. i no a few of em.
wel, i herd it callid a Dragonoff sumwer....
but if it is part horse the correct term to use would be 'hippo' and part dragon the correct term would be 'drake', so hippodrak
*growls* wel not evareeone calz it a "horsedragon"! wat bout griffins! deyd be callin em sumptin lik "eaglelions"!
yes, well, griffin is not a technical name. hippodrak is. i'm sure griffin sounds better than eagleo or whatever it would be
Hippogriffs are half eagle half horse, so assumably griff means something to do with eagle. So in that line of thought griffin could be grff (fel)in(e).
it should be griffleo, then. leo means lion.
But it isn't griffleo. And I don't intend to sound mean or anything, I am just trying to figure out the thought behind the original naming...
Also, griffin can be spelled gryphon, so maybe that could change it, it could be an older and less-used name.
then the correct term would be griffleo, wouldn't it? or leogriff becuase 'leo' is the term for lion, isn't it?
Only in one language.
in phoenix, griffin is kehehean
What I mean is, whatever language the 'griff' part of the name came from, that is where the lion part should come from as well.
ah, well i have no idea where 'griff' came from. i suspect that the name griffin was made up and now when something is half eagle they just put 'griff' up there becuase of that.
Somehow, I don't think so. I always look for reasons, and if I cared enough about this, I would PROVE YOU WRONG! But I don't, so...
come on, prove me wrong! actually, i wouldn't mind too much just as long as i find out the real reason behind the whole 'griff' dealio

Quoth "The American Hertiage Dictionary of the English Language" (copyright 1979): Griffin n. Also griffon, gryphon. Greek Mythology. A fabulous beast with the head and wings of an eagle and the body of a lion. [Middle English griffon, from Old French grifoun, from Late Latin Gryphus, from Latin, from Greek grups, possibly from Hebrew kerubh, cherub.]

if it is then from Greek, the name for lion is leon....if anyone was wondering.
It's just....stupid and wrong...and the colors make it gay!

the dragon's actually really good...maybe if it wasn't colored..the position's nice.
