Well detailed, and very awesome-looking, but the wings seem too small, and it's hard to imagine the direction of the tail behind the wall.

The wings can be whatever size I want 'em to be xD and perhaps it's all an optical illusion. @Nithak: thankies <3

I'm sorry. It was my personal critique on this picture that I believe I am allowed to point out. According to the size of the dragon, the wings are too small to give it flight, unless I am mistaken, and the dragon is much smaller than it looks. Also, just by my eyesight alone, it is hard to tell what direction the tail is going when you can't see it. Mars, it is a very good picture, I love the detail and the feathers, it's just those two things that I wanted to point out. I'm sorry if I seemed to critical, I was just stating my opinion. @Vicious: Happy now?? I try to give constructive criticism on all the pictures I see.

First, maybe she doesn't fly... second, maybe she doesn't obey the laws of physics.. heck, bees shouldn't be able to fly according to basic physics like size of wing to weight of object comparison, but they still do, and third maybe she has more wings than the ones you can see (: and the tail thing... just use your imagination to figure out which way it's going/coming from; I made it ambiguous for a reason.

Vicious: Critiquing others' pictures is one major step towards being a good artist. If you're afraid to give critique, people may start to think you're afraid of getting it. And if you never get critique, you aren't going to improve because you won't know what's wrong with your picture. I would, personally, MUCH RATHER get some good, in-depth critique than a million comments saying, "omg thats sooo cool! awesum!11!" In fact, I don't even reply to comments like that on dA with more than just a bland 'thanks'. So Jenu, keep critiquing everything you see. It's a good quality to have. Though, don't do it in a way that makes it sound like YOUR opinion HAS to be how the artist should draw. Point out reasons why you think what's wrong is wrong and why it should be changed. Don't call stuff like, "the wings aren't big enough. they should definitely be larger" critique, because that's only shoving your personal opinion into someone's face. (:

And yes, I like constructive criticism very much, but I had already said that I drew them how I wanted them. Maybe I should have explained the pic more... I imagined Raven as a mix between a raven and an asian dragon, and wings aren't usually even depicted on asian dragons, nor would they be much use, especially since asian dragons are associated with using magic or psychic powers for flight....

it's a good pic and i see nothing wrong with it. it's creative, that's all..

I didn't say that what I put in my comment was what you said. I was using it as an example. I also never said you did anything wrong. I was actually on your side, saying that's it's perfectly fine to critique something. You just need to be aware that artists have every right to draw how they want, and you can't always tell if drawing something disproportunate or whatever was intended. Like Mars already said, she drew those wings small on purpose.

Plus, I'm just in a pissy mood ): rawr!
